Drop Dead

Katarina Stegnar es una actriz, bailarina y performer, graduada en la Academia de Ljubljana de Teatro, Radio, Cine y Televisión, es una de las artistas más versátiles en la escena teatral eslovena de los últimos años.

Su labor artística ha supuesto una contribución significativa en la escena independiente eslovena, y al mismo tiempo colabora de formar regular en el reparto de los principales teatros del país.

Con el tiempo, Stegnar ha llegado ha desarrollar un campo original único del espectáculo, en el que investiga su propia creatividad, así como la forma, manera y los medios de su expresión artística. Es implacable tanto consigo misma como con el público.

"Stegnar, upam, da veš, kaj delaš! Si pripravljena? Si nahranila svojega mačka? Spij zadnji viski, pokadi zadnjo cigareto, preberi zadnjo pravljico svoji hčerki, povej njenemu očetu tisto, kar lahko pove samo zadnji stavek ... In premisli, katera glasba bo tvoja zadnja glasba. Zdaj ti odločaš o tem, kar boš naredila, kako boš to naredila in zakaj boš to naredila. Stegnar, zdaj si ti edino merilo tega, kar delaš. Zdaj si ti edina nit, ki lahko poveže vse skupaj. Stegnar, če boš samo lajala cinične pripombe in bruhala sarkastični smeh, potem raje zapri gobec. Nočem te poslušati, nočem te gledati, nočem te poznati. Naredi mi uslugo in končaj, preden sploh začneš. Stegn se!"

"Stegnar, I sure hope you know what you are doing! Are you ready? Have you fed your cat? Drink your last whisky, have your last cigarette, read the very last story to your daughter and tell her father what only the last sentence can say … And think hard what your farewell music will be.

Now it’s time for you to decide what you’re going to do, how are you doing it? And why are you doing it? Stegnar, you’re the only measure of what you are doing. Now you’re the only thread that can bind things together. Stegnar – if you are to bark cynical comments and throw out sarcastic laughter then you better shut your mouth up. I don’t want to listen to you, I don’t want to look at you, I don’t want to know you. Do me a favour and finish before you even begin. Drop dead!"
